Kandel lashes out at AI for 'mishandling' Nanda Prasad, CK Raut issues

KATHMANDU, June 12: Another former Chairman of the Nepal chapter of Amnesty International (AI) has criticized the AI over 'mishandling' the issues of Krishna Prasad Adhikari and CK Raut in the country.

Issuing a press release on Friday, Krishna Kandel, former AI Nepal chapter chairman, accused AI of backing the controversial Madhesi activist CK Raut who has been conducting subversive activities against national integrity in the country.


Kandel further critisized the AI for keeping mum over the death of Krishna Prasad Adhikari who died while staging hunger strike demanding legal action against the murderers of his son Krishna Prasad.

On Thursday, prominent human rights activist and AI's former chairman of Nepal Chapter Krishna Pahadi had announced to stay out of the AI movement and programs until the organization accepts its mistakes on Nepal policy flaying the AI on the same issues.
