Kanchanpur party cadres request Dahal to withdraw Magar's candidacy

KATHMANDU, Oct 8: A team of the UCPN (Maoist) party cadres from Kanchanpur district has requested its party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal to withdraw the candidacy of Bina Magar from the constituency number-1 of their district.



They urged Dahal to withdraw Magar´s candidacy during a meeting held on Monday.



According to a team member who participated the meeting with Dahal, Dahal acknowledged his blunder in providing ticket to Magar due to wrong reporting from the district leadership.[break]



“Magar was given ticket as I was told that she had better chance to win the elections form the constituency-1. I will reconsider to it," the member quoted Dahal as saying.



A team of the party leaders from the district led-by district coordinator Parbati Dulal had arrived Kathmandu to request for withdrawal of Magar´s candidacy.



Local UCPN (Maoist) leaders are unhappy over the candidacy of Magar as the decision was taken without consent of the local leaders.



Local UCPN (Maoist) leader Gagan Singh had fielded his nomination as rebel candidate of the party against the candidacy of Bina Magar.
