KATHMANDU, Sept 1: Kalyan Gurung, a central member of the ruling Nepali Congress (NC), has announced his candidature for the post of party president.
In a program organized in Kathmandu today, Gurung announced his candidature for the post of President at the upcoming 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress to be held on November 25. While announcing his candidature, he claimed that he would work to control corruption.

NC leaders including current president Sher Bahadur Deuba, Shashank Koirala and Ram Chandra Poudel, Krishna Sitaula, Sujata Koirala among others are preparing to field themselves as the candidates of president of NC at the convention.
