The best actor and actress awards were handed over to Aryan Sigdel and Priyanka Karki for 'November Rain' and 'Suntali' respectively. Priyanka had also been awarded with the same title for the film 'Suntali' at NFCA.The last film of late actor Shree Krishna Shrestha, 'Kohinoor' was endowed with the Best Commercial Movie award. 'Kohinoor' garnered great commercial success last year, but rejected the award, citing dissatisfaction with the nominations.
The Jury award was conferred to Director Sudip Singh Bhusal for his film 'Mala.' Likewise, film journalist Bijay Ratna Tuladhar was awarded with the Best Film Journalism Award.
Minister for Information and Communications, Dr Minendra Rijal; Chairperson of NFDC, Raj Kumar Rai, and Indian singer Sanjeevani distributed the awards to the winners. Each award recipient also pocketed cash prize of Rs 51,000.
The award ceremony also saw dance performances by Gauri Malla, Namrata Sapkota, Yash Raj Garach, Pramod Agrahari, Anu Shah, Chhulthim Gurung, and Ashma DC, among others. Deepak Raj Giri and Deepa Shree Niraula also entertained the crowd with their performance. Singer Sanjeevani performed a number of Nepali and Hindi songs.
The panel of judges coordinated by Subha Bahadur Sunam included Chaitya Devi Singh, Manju Kumar Shrestha and Pradeep Upadhyay.
