JPMC expresses supports for RPP protest

RPP’s protest will be held under the slogan ‘Change the system to change the situation’ and will include a public demonstration and mass assembly at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu on April 8.

KATHMANDU, April 6: The Joint People's Movement Committee (JPMC) has expressed its support for the Rastriya Prajatantra Party’s April 8 protest.


In a statement today, the JPMC‘s acting coordinator, Jagman Gurung, expressed their support for RPP’s upcoming protest. Gurung also appealed for active participation in the movement, which aims to restore the monarchy.

RPP’s protest will be held under the slogan ‘Change the system to change the situation’ and will include a public demonstration and mass assembly at Bhrikuti Mandap in Kathmandu on April 8.


“The JPMC will extend its full support to the demonstration and grand assembly organized by the RPP on April 8,  at Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu, to be organized to achieve a new political understanding,” the statement read. “We sincerely call upon all nationalist and patriotic citizens to actively and peacefully participate in the event with the national flag.”


Previously, the committee had also supported the public demonstration called by Durga Prasai on March 28. RPP had also shown support and participated in that movement.
