The meeting with the stakeholders coordinated by Director at the Education Department Kamal Prasad Pokhrel directed the JEMC and Sajha Publications to submit a concrete work plan how they would ensure the availability of necessary textbooks for the schools in the coming year beginning after a month.

It is estimated that as many as 24 million books are needed to meet the demand next year.

However, the new academic year is begun from this month (Falgun) in Karnali zone.

Chairman of the National Guardian Association Nepal, Dharma Dutta Devkota, blamed the Education Department for its failure to maintain the actual data of the books of some optional subjects which resulted in the lack of coordination for the production and distribution.
