The latest two deceased have been identified as Bala Bahadur Nepali, 50, of Archhani VDC-2, Bhautadanda and Hansabadur Shahi, 58, of ward no.7 of the same VDC.Although the government authorities have been claiming that the disease is gradually being come under control, the epidemic has been spreading at an alarming rate in the district for over two weeks.
According to Janak KC, Myrepublica.com correspondent in the district, who reached the Archhani VDC after two days' walk form district headquarters, over 200 locals infected with unknown desease are visiting the local health camps on daily basis.
According to locals and health officials, people, who are far from the health camps, are unable to visit the camps due to extreme sickness.
With the influx of the patients who are suffering from the disease, the District Health office is facing acute shortage of medicines, according to health officials at the district.
Following matter was reported widely in the media, the government had dispatched the teams of doctors along with medicines and to the affected areas.
Nepal Army is also operating temporary camps to treat the patients. However many patients are still not able to come into the health camps as people residing in extreme remote areas.
The epidemic is reported to be the results of unsafe drinking water and poor sanitation in the affected areas.
