Indian army chief Singh arriving Tuesday

KATHMANDU, June 8: Indian army chief General Bikram Singh is arriving in the capital on Tuesday on a five-day official visit to Nepal.



During his visit, Singh will participate in various programs and also meet Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai and Defense Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, among others, said a statement issued by the Directorate of Public Relations of Nepal Army on Sunday.



He is visiting Nepal at the invitation of Nepal´s Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Chhatraman Singh Gurung. [break]



Singh is also scheduled to meet President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, who will confer on the Indian army chief the honorary rank of the CoAS of Nepal amid a ceremony on July 11.



He will return home on July 14.
