Index Furniture showroom in Nepal

KATHMANDU, July 12: Thailand-based Index Furniture Land has opened a franchise in Nepal.



Located opposite of Narayanhiti Museum´s northern gate, the exclusive Index showroom, spread in an area of 13,000 square feet, has showcased furniture and household products that cater to the needs of different customers looking for modern lifestyle products. [break]



These include wide range of bedroom sets, low sofa sets, treasure chests, luxurious pure dark leather swivel chairs, dining table, display rack and dressers. The showroom has also introduced garden items such as umbrellas, tables and swings, among others.



One of the attractions of the showroom is various designs of bedroom sets, which are divided into four categories: Modern Italian, Romantic Sensation, Mix and Match and Traditional Alignment.



Among these, Modern Italian bed set is an eye catcher, while Romantic Sensation set is designed targeting newly married couples and teenagers. Mix and Match set, on the other hand, comes with shades of different colors and Traditional Alignment set is designed for senior citizens.



All these sets include a king-size bed, wardrobe, dresser and side table made of solid wood, teak wood, compressed fiber and density fiber.



"Prices of the bedroom sets range from Rs 155,000 to Rs 400,000 and customers can change the items in the combo to suit their needs," Vivek Adhikari, branch executive of Index Furniture Land, told Republica.



Index Furniture Land, which has franchises in Vietnam, the UAE, Pakistan, Cambodia, New Zealand and India, has been manufacturing furniture for the last two-and-a-half decades.



"All of our products are designed and manufactured in Thailand, where the factory is located. The company hires designers from all over the world to produce best products for different markets," said Adhikari. The products, available at the store here, were also introduced after conducting a research on taste, preference and needs of Nepali customers, according to Adhikari.



According to Potter Kasemsaemsuk, senior supervisor of Index Furniture Land, sofa sets of Index are most popular in Thailand and other parts of the world. "This is because sofas that we have designd are considered attractive," he said.



The sofas at Index Furniture Land are available for as low as Rs 79,000 and can cost as much as Rs 500,000.
