ILAM, Jan 30: Herbal oil produced in Ilam has made its way to international markets, with France being a primary destination. The oil is manufactured by the industry of Nityaraj Dahal in Maijogmai Rural Municipality, which has been in operation for 13 years. Since last year, the industry has started exporting oils made from local herbs.
According to Dahal, the industry extracts oil from herbs such as Pati, Dhupi, Mentha, and Dhasingare, all of which are found in the surrounding area. Currently, oils from Pati, Mentha, and Dhupi are being exported, with plans to expand the range to include geranium, wild centaury, and rosemary. Dahal believes foreign customers are particularly drawn to Nepali natural products, leading to the increased demand for these oils.
