‘I love studying,’ says Bikash Adhikari, 17 who appeared for the SLC examination through Wide Vision English Medium Secondary School in Nawalparasi and is currently studying at Kanjirowa National School,Kathmandu. He is Republica’s youngster
When did you find out the results?
It was around a month ago that the results were published. On the very evening I checked it online to see I had scored higher than all of my friends. I was really happy. The next day in college there was a lot of confusion because the teachers were all busy calculating and comparing my marks with candidates from other colleges. Then the next day as I read the morning papers I saw my picture with a huge congratulations notice. It read that I was the highest scorer.

How does it feel to be recognized? Also share with your study routine.
The feeling is amazing! I had put in a lot of effort to achieve this. The best feeling of all is when my parents tell me that they are proud of me. Last week I was invited to my school in Nawalparasi for a program to felicitate me and I felt so proud. As far as my study routine is concerned I study for at least 7 hours a day. I revise everything that has been taught in college and later look up reference books. I think being regular and motivated are the most important factors.
Apart from studying, what else do you like doing?
As I am mostly occupied with studies I hardly get time to do anything else. I like watching movies though! Also playing cricket is fun. Once in a while me and my friends go to the cinema halls and watch films. This month as a celebration I watched Don 2.
What are your future plans?
I aim at becoming a doctor. I hope through my profession I can travel to even the remotest of villages and serve those in need.
