Sending a letter to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) on Friday, the parliamentary committee sought details, including the number of days, purpose and other details of foreign trips made by ministers after the devastating earthquake.
"The committee has asked the government to provide all the details within the next three days," Speaker Subas Nembang, who also heads the special committee, told Republica. He said the committee took the decision as some of the ministers reportedly flouted the government directive that asked them not to go on foreign trips and to adopt austerity measures in view of the crisis facing the country after the earthquake.
The committee had earlier directed the government to deploy ministers to the earthquake-ravaged districts to ensure better coordination and effective relief distribution and rehabilitation of the quake-hit locals.
The committee had also sought the details of progress on deployment of ministers to the quake-affected districts but the government has yet to inform the committee on the matter.
"Therefore, we have asked the government to provide all the details regarding the matter within the next three days," said Nembang.
