KATHMANDU, Aug 21: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) has forecast cloudy skies and rainfall across several parts of the country today.
This afternoon, the hilly regions will remain generally cloudy, while the rest of the country is expected to see partly cloudy conditions. Light to moderate showers are likely at one or two places in both the hills and the Terai.
Heavy rain predicted in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki areas
Later tonight, moderate rainfall is expected in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Meanwhile, one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki could see heavy downpours.
The DHM has also issued a cautionary note, warning of possible landslides and debris flows in the hills, along with rising water levels in rivers and streams. Such conditions could disrupt transportation. The public has been advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions.
