KATHMANDU, May 29: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) reported that western and local winds, along with moisture-laden air from the Bay of Bengal, are currently affecting Nepal's weather. As a result, some areas of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces are likely to receive heavy rainfall tonight.
This afternoon, partly to generally cloudy skies will prevail across the country. Some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, along with other hilly regions, may witness light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning. A few locations in the high hilly, and mountainous regions may also experience light rain and snowfall.

Tonight, clouds will continue to cover hilly areas, including Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, while the rest of the country will likely see clearer skies. Some parts of the hilly regions in Gandaki and Lumbini may see light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning. Light rain and snowfall may also occur in a few places in the high hilly, and mountainous regions.
The DHM also predicted heavy rain in isolated areas of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces. Meanwhile, some high hilly and mountainous regions in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces may receive light rain and snowfall.
