KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Indian ambassador Ranjit Rae has expedited his political activities at a time when the clause-wise voting is about to begin on the bill of the new constitution.

Ambassador Rae met with CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Friday morning at his residence in Balkot. He had urged Chairman Oli to stop the constitution writing process.

"UML Chairman Oli hinted that if the constitution writing process is halted, it will have a negative impact," a source told Republica.

Rae returned from Balkot after holding talks with Oli for about 25 minutes. Rae, then, reached UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal's residence in Lazimpat.

During the period Daha was busy in the three-party meeting at Baluwatar.

When heard about Rae's visit to his residence, Dahal and Baburam Bhattarai came out of Baluwatar.

In the meeting, Rae urged Dahal to move ahead by taking all the parties on board the constitution making process.

Conveying India's message, Rae urged the leaders to forge consensus among the agitating parties even by postponing the constitution writing process for a while.
