According to Jeet Ram Lama, chairman of Association for Rural Social Welfare-Nepal which will launch the project, the integrated reconstruction project is the first of its kind in the country targeted at uplifting the livelihoods of the earthquake-affected people through various approaches. The organization will focus its reconstruction work in the remote VDCs of Thangpalkot and Gunsakot. Around 20,000 people of 2754 households would be covered by the reconstruction project, Lama said. Likewise, the project would be expanded to two more VDCs in future.
"We look at all aspects of the victims such as their early recovery needs, temporary shelter, permanent shelter, education and income-generating skill among other things," stated Lama.
Likewise, availability of water, sanitation and hygiene are also among top priority areas.
