Chief District Officer Matrika Acharya stated that authorities are setting up the BOP to strengthen border security and streamline operations in the region. He also said that the government has leased 20 ropanis of land for a long-term to the Armed Police Force, which will use it as needed.

During a program on Thursday, officials handed over the land lease certificate to Hira Bahadur GC, Commander of Armed Police Force No 32 Battalion. Chief District Officer Matrika Acharya stated that Phu village in Manang remains a remote area without road access. He emphasized that establishing the BOP will strengthen border security, enhance surveillance and control cross-border crimes.

The BOP will deploy 35 APF personnel including an Inspector. Authorities, in coordination with Narpa Bhumi Rural Municipality, plan to construct the outpost soon. Acharya further noted that this initiative will help maintain peace and security, improve disaster management and assist in rescuing tourists suffering from altitude sickness.

Narpa Bhumi, which borders Tibet, China, requires a two-day journey from Chame to reach Phu village.
