According to a press statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister on Sunday on its achievements of the past one month, the government has cited promotion of seven secretaries, appointments of general manager of Gorkhapatra Corporation, chairman of Broader Janakpur Region Development, High Powered Committee for Integrated Development of Bagmati Civilization as its important works.[break]
The statement said that works related to road expansion in Kathmandu Valley have been expedited following a review meeting and instructions from the Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi.
Five-point agreement between Jatiya Mukti Morcha and the government, negotiations with the agitating alliance of 33 parties led by CPN-Maoist, Federal Democratic Front and Progressive National Forum, cabinet approval of Conflict Affected Journalists´ Welfare Fund Directives, Irrigation Policy, approval of the 13th Development Plan and approval of Monetary Policy are also among the "important achievements", according to the statement.
Among other things, the upgradation of various 10 hospitals and health posts, allocation of Rs 160 million for seed fund of B P Koirala Nepal-India Academy and introduction of Citizens´ Charters with a provision of compensation at Department of Food Technology and Quality Control have also been listed as achievements.
