KATHMANDU, March 12: Minister for Information and Communications Sherdhan Rai has argued that a national government would be formed under the leadership of incumbent government.

Talking to media persons briefly at Biratnagar Airport on Saturday, Minister Rai said the Nepali Congress national convention is over and the government is expected to formally call on the main opposition to be a part of it.

The Congress has only two options ahead—either to join the government or lend constructive support to the government to meet the people's mandate for implementing the constitution by staying in opposition, he said.

The government will formally call on all political parties to participate in the government after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's China visit starting very soon, according to Minister Rai. If the parties seem reluctant to join the government, it will move ahead on its own vision and plans, he added.

Most of the demands of United Democratic Madhesi Front ( UDMF) unhappy with some provisions of the new constitution, had been already addressed, he said, adding that disputes over the fresh demarcation of federal provinces would be sorted out being based on a report to be prepared by the existing political committee formed to deal with such disputes.
