KATHMANDU, Oct 15: Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the CPN UML Jhalanath Khanal said the present government has no moral right to stay even a minute in the chair.

Speaking at a book-release and sharing of greetings program on the occasion of Dashain and other nearing festivals organized by UML Kathmandu Constituency No. 3 Committee in Jorpati on Saturday, he said the present government is constituted by the persons involved in different criminal activities.

UML Chairman Khanal released the book ´Purbottar Pailaharu´ during the program.

It has been felt that the Prime Minister himself was involved in the Kashi Tiwari´s murder case, as the government did not sack the Minister for Land Reforms and Management Prabhu Shah who has been accused of one of the mastermind of the Tiwari´s killing as per the report given by Nepal Police, one of the government´s security bodies.

Instead of taking action against Shah, the government is giving pressure not to forward the case against Shah through the Attorney General, he said.

It is an irresponsible statement to warn of splitting the nation by the defense minister, who has to lead the army for national integrity.

The present cabinet even consists of ministers, who have been attending the cases at the Supreme Court on charges of corruption, said UML Chairman Khanal.

He repeated that his party will not be back from its stance to disrupt parliamentary activities until the government sacks off the ministers who give litigious statements. The UML will not join the government that stands on crutches, said Khanal.

UML Central Committee (CC) member and Valley coordinator Rajendra Shrestha said to keep the persons declared criminal by police hurts over the national dignity.

During the program, alternative CC member Rameshwor Phuyal urged the government and the UCPN (Maoist) to bring clear report about the captured property and the condition of the disappeared people during the insurgency.
