KATHMANDU, Jan 18: The renowned Manakamana Temple in Gorkha district will remain closed from Thursday. A meeting of the Manakamana Area Development Trust on Tuesday decided not to conduct any kind of worship activities, citing the increasing risk of COVID-19 once again, under the direction of the cabinet.
The religious Hindu temple marks over a thousand visitors a day. The number of people visiting the site is even higher during holidays. The trust has decided to hold regular worship at the temple till mid-January. However, devotees visiting Manakamana will not be allowed to enter the temple.
Manakamana cable car celebrates 20th anniversary

The cable car service will also remain operational. According to station manager Ujwal Sherchan, no decisions have been made to close the cable car service.
