Adhikari and her husband Nanda Prasad of Phujel, Gorkha had staged fast-unto-death demanding action against the murderers of their son Krishna Prasad, who was allegedly murdered by Maoist cadres at Bakulahar Chowk of Ratnanagar, Chitwan in June 2004.
Nanda Prasad had died on September 23, 2014 after 329 days of fast-unto-death at Bir Hospital. Even after losing her husband, Ganga Maya had continued her hunger strike for 360 days until the government signed five-point deal with her in October, 2014. She is still at the hospital.""It has been long since the government filed the case but the perpetrators have yet to be punished. My husband died fighting for justice and I have no option other than staging fast-unto-death to continue the battle n"w," said Ganga Maya from the hospital bed.
Ganga Maya has given 10-day ultimatum to the government to arrest absconding murder accused and to give verdict in the case, which is sub-judice at the Chitwan District Court.
The government had filed a case against 13 persons at the Chitwan District Court on April 13, 2014 for their alleged involvement in the murder of Krishna Prasad.
Ganga Maya was also upset about the lengthy court procedure.
Meanwhile, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has expressed concerns over the delay in action against Krishna Prasad's murderers. NHRC members Sudeep Pathak and Mohana Ansari met Ganga Maya on Sunday.
