Fresh 4.8-magnitude tremor felt yet again

KATHMANDU, May 29: A fresh aftershock with 4.8 in the Richter scale struck with its epicenter along the border of Dhading and Gorkha on Friday.

According to National Seismological Center (NSC), Lainchaur, the tremor was recorded at 12:30 pm today.Earlier, 4-magnitude tremor was recorded at 8:30 am today with its epicenter in Gorkha, 4.2 at 5:20 am with its epicenter in Dhadinng while another tremor of the same magnitude struck at 12:37 am with Dolakha epicenter.

However, no further damages caused by these aftershocks have been reported so far.

According to NSC, over 30,000 aftershocks have occurred since the April 25 mega earthquake that rocked the nation.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said as many as 8,677 people were killed, 21,966 injured and tens of thousands have been rendered homeless.
