Foreign country can't make media policy here: Gupta

KANCHANPUR, (Saptari), Jan 21: Minister for Information and Communications, Jayprakash Prasad Gupta has said no foreign country could formulate media policy for Nepal.



Minister Gupta said this at a time concerns were raised saying an international organization was formulating Nepal´s media policy.[break]



"The Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) was consulted only for suggestion on media policy," he said, adding that the foreign agency could not make media policy here.



In another context, Minister Gupta said the Madhesi Morcha would not accept the federal state linking north with south as proposed by the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML. He stressed that entire Madhes should be linked while devising federal states.



He urged the agitating armed groups to come to negotiation table to solve the problems.
