KATHMANDU, March 29: The Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) formed a seven-member committee to investigate the death of a journalist and the attack on media houses during Friday's protest in Tinkune.
In a meeting with available office bearers and central members held on Saturday in the capital, the FNJ appointed Vice President Umid Bagchand as the chair of the committee. Six secretaries of the FNJ will serve as members. The secretaries on the committee are Ramesh Khatiwada, Prakash Dhoulakoti, Soni Sharma, Ashok Tiwari, Baikuntha Parajuli and Sabin Priyasan, according to the FNJ.

Vice President Umid Bagchand will lead the committee to visit the attacked media houses today to conduct its study. The committee will discuss the incident with the victims, eyewitnesses, and the families of those affected. It will submit a report with recommendations on what happened, how it unfolded and how the FNJ should proceed.
On Friday, pro-monarchy groups carried out violent activities, including arson and vandalism, in the Tinkune area. The protest resulted in the death of Avenues Television journalist Suresh Rajak. Protesters also attacked and vandalized the offices of Kantipur Television and Annapurna Post daily.
