The main point through where more than 50,000 locals of Jharlang, Tipling, Lapa and Saterngu VDCs traveled to and from the area has remained closed after the flood took the bridge away. [break]
The suspension bridge was constructed by an NGO namely KADURI at the cost of Rs. two million in 2000. With the flood sweeping away the bridge, people of four remote VDCs of northern Dhading are in trouble to move to and from headquarters.
Likewise, the flood that took place after a heavy rainfall swept away paddy field and slope agricultural land in Jharlang VDC-2. The flood also destroyed the standing paddy, maize, pumpkins, cucumber and soybean.
The flood also has posed serious threat to 14 households in Lunkalo settlement.
