KHANDBARI, Feb 19: Flight operations have resumed at Tumlingtar Airport, the only airport in the mountainous Sankhuwasabha district, following an improvement in weather conditions after three weeks. An aircraft of Buddha Air with 72-seat capacity took off from the airport on Wednesday.
Thick fog around Tumlingtar Airport had caused suspension of flights since January 27. The airport resumed flights after the haze covering the hills near the runway cleared, according to the airport office.

Recently, Buddha Air has been operating flights at Tumlingtar with its 72-seat capacity plane. Nabraj Dahal, the head of the Tumlingtar-based office of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, stated that the flights resumed after the thick haze cleared.
He clarified that authorities allowed flights only after the visibility around the airport reached at least five kilometers. Until a day ago, the visibility at the airport had been just 500 meters. Although the haze has cleared to some extent, the weather has not improved to the full extent.
