KATHMANDU, Dec 8: The Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA), a grouping of ruling parties, decided to expand the cabinet if the leaders failed to reach to a consensus by Wednesday.

"The meeting has decided to expand the cabinet if the parties failed to pick a consensus prime minister within the deadline (Wednesday) given by the president," FDRA spokesperson Prem Bahadur Singh said after the meeting on Saturday. [break]

The FDRA has also decided not to request the president to extend the deadline if the present one fritters away, Singh added.
