Ex-lawmakers' condemn police action

KATHMANDU,May 24: Former lawmakers Club on Tuesday condemned the arrest of 25 of its members who were staging a sit-in outside the CA building, Baneshwar.



The security personnel on Tuesday morning had arrested the lawmakers and later freed them.



The club has termed the police action as irresponsible, undemocratic and indecent. Meanwhile, the Kathmandu District Office has announced the CA building area as prohibited zone effective from Tuesday.



Former lawmakers have been staging sit in for the last 17 days in a bid to exert pressure on the political parties to conclude the peace process and write the new constitution on time.
