Ex-Gorkha army men denied pension

KHALANGA Oct 13: Ex-Gorkha Army and businesspersons along the border area have been hit hard when various branches of Indian State Bank (ISB) denied to pay pension amounts without furnishing recommendation of the Chief District Officer (CDO) of the respective districts.



The ISB branches have stopped giving pension payment for the past one month, complained ex-Gorkha Army personnel who had long served the Indian Army and currently are the residents of far-western districts of Nepal. [break]



Likewise, the transaction of business persons, who have been propelling their trade and commerce in bordering market hubs for the past one week, has also witnessed crisis when they are also demanded with the recommendation from respective district CDO and citizenship certificate.



They are having a hard time in their businesses with ISB authorities’ denial to withdraw the deposit without recommendations from respective district CDO, informed Hem Singh Thapa, a businessperson of bordering Jhulaghat.



There are the accounts of around hundred of Nepali businesspersons in the ISB in Jhulaghat, said Bahadur Singh Khatri, a trader in Jhulaghat.
