KATHMANDU, Aug 24: The election of the chairpersons of the parliamentary committees is going to be held on August 28.


A meeting of the chief whips and whips of the four major political parties held in the office of Speaker Devraj Ghimire on Thursday decided to hold the election of the chairpersons of all 10 thematic committees on August 28. CPN-UML Whip Mahesh Bartaula said that the process will start from August 28. He said that a notice will be published today regarding the matter.

“The elections for the chairpersons of all 10 thematic committees will be held on August 28. On August 27, the selection process for the candidate will begin. In this way, it has been ensured that all the thematic committees of the House of Representatives will get their leadership. The notice will be published today,” He said.


Speaker Devraj Ghimire, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Dhan Raj Gurung, chief whip of Nepali Congress Ramesh Lekhak, chief whip of CPN (Maoist Center) Hitraj Pandey, whip of CPN-UML Mahesh Bartaula, Rastriya Swatantra Party Chief Whip Santosh Pariyar and general secretary of the House of Representatives Bharat Raj Gautam were present.
