RAUTAHAT, June 15: An elderly man died after being struck by lightning in Rautahat on Sunday morning.

Siya Ram Baniya, 65, of Garuda Municipality Ward 1, was hit by lightning while untying a goat in front of his house. He sustained critical injuries and was rushed to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur, where doctors pronounced him dead, according to DSP Rajan Karki of Garuda Area Police Office.
The body has been kept at the same hospital for post-mortem.
