The Dutch national was working as a director of Jeewan Samrakshyan Bal Griha, a childcare home in Samakhusi, Kathmandu, until charges accusing him of rape were filed at the Kathmandu District Court.
The DoI has banned him from entering Nepal for the next five years in line with the Immigration Act. Director General at the DoI Kedar Neupane said, "As soon as we received a file on Molhuysen, we arranged everything for his deportation. He will not be allowed to enter Nepal for five years," said
Neupane.
The Embassy of Netherlands issued Molhuysen a laissez-passer and a flight ticket.
There are around 560 childcare homes operating in Nepal, according to the Central Child Welfare Board (CCWB). The CCWB said that they are continuously monitoring the childcare homes with the help of police and the immigration department to prevent children from being abused.
"Childcare homes and the people working there are being constantly scrutinized by us. With the help of police and DoI, we keep track of their visa details and monitor their activities to prevent any kind of untoward activities," said Director of the CCWB Dilli Ram Giri.
He said that they are currently working with the police in investigations of nine cases related to pedophilia.
The CCWB is also working with the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare (MoWCSW) to re-open registration of new childcare homes with stringent policies. The CCWB had halted registration of new childcare homes after the earthquake of the April 25 following reports that children were being transported from one place to another illegally.
