Durga Prasai suspected to be hiding in Lalitpur, police to pursue murder charges

KATHMANDU, March 29: Police authorities suspect that monarchist protest leader Durga Prasai is hiding somewhere in Lalitpur. The police have also placed the YouTuber accompanying him under surveillance.


The police have intensified their search for Prasai. According to a high-ranking police official, the Special Bureau of the Police has joined the effort to track him down. Along with the District Police Range, Kathmandu, and the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office's special team, the government has also deployed the Special Bureau to capture the absconding Prasai.

Police sources have revealed that preparations are underway to charge Prasai with murder.


Prasai had told the police on social media that he would come when called, but he has since switched off his mobile and gone into hiding.


Nabraj Subedi, the coordinator of the Joint People’s Movement Committee, has been placed under house arrest.
