Driver and a student killed in Dakshinkali bus accident (Update)

Other students injured in the accident have been receiving treatment in nearby hospitals, according to the police.  Police sources said that around two dozen students are receiving treatment while the others have been sent home after treatment.

KATHMANDU, Feb 9: A school bus met with an accident in Bhanjyang area of Dakshinkali on the southern outskirts of Kathmandu on Sunday afternoon, killing two persons. 


A student of Junkiri English School and the  bus driver died in the accident, informed the District Police Range, Kathmandu.

The school bus, which was carrying around 50 students, veered off the road and fell about 50 feet below.  


Other students injured in the accident have been receiving treatment in nearby hospitals, according to the police.  Police sources said that around two dozen students are receiving treatment while the others have been sent home after treatment.


Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
