A special squad of Anti-terrorist directorate of Nepal Police and Metropolitan Police Circle (MPC), Kalimati arrested Shekh Mohamad Sanaulla and Mohamad Jafir Aalam while they were trying to deliver the fake notes hidden inside two cartons of Kurta Salawar to Salim Aalam. [break]
“The duo was trying to deliver the fake notes to the rightful owner,” said DSP Dhiraj Pratap Singh, spokesperson at Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka.
The cartons that contained fake currency were dispatched from Karachi, Pakistan in the name of Salim Aalam and were delivered by DHL Express Nepal Pvt Ltd, Sinamangal.
Sanaulla, 25, and Aalam, 24, originally hail from Rautahat and are residents of Kuleshwar.
Police have confiscated fake 970 notes of Rs 1000 denomination and 980 notes of Rs 500 denomination from them. They have been detained at MPC, Kalimati for further investigaiton, according to police.
