BIRJUNG, May 28: An interaction on understanding and expectations of the services provided by the judiciary was held as part of the community court program at Viswa in western Parsa with an aim to increase people's access to justice.

During the program jointly organized by High Court Janakpur's Permanent Bench in Birgunj and government's legal practitioners in collaboration with the District Court, Parsa on Saturday, discussions took place on court's legal proceedings and services and community's issues with the court.

On the occasion, participants spoke in opposition of the delay in the verdict process, high expenses in lengthening cases and called for strict enforcement of law in cases of child marriage, domestic violence, polygamy, rape, violence against women (VAW), property dispute and gangsters' intimidation and brawls.

The interaction was held to inform the community on the court's legal proceedings and processes and to understand the community's expectations and illusion over the court while enhancing people's confidence towards the court.

District Court Parsa's Chief Justice, Nagendra Lal Karna, said the judiciary is committed to providing fast-track justice to the people.

People from Viswa, Tulsibarba, Jayamangalapur, Mirjapur and Sambhauta villages were present on the occasion.
