Court extends Lamichhane’s judicial remand by four days

The District Government Attorney Office (DGAO), Kaski, which received the investigation report prepared by the police on Monday, will prosecute Lamichhane in ​​court on December 20.

KATHMANDU, Dec 17: The Kaski District Court on Tuesday granted the police the permission to detain the chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, for an additional four days for further investigation into the charges against him.


Lamichhane, who was arrested on October 18, has been in custody for 61 days. It is reported that this custody extension could probably be the last one.

Lamichhane was presented before the court for the eighth time on Tuesday for an extension of custody. Investigations are ongoing into charges of cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering against Lamichhane.
