Chitwan bandh for indefinite time

CHITWAN, Sept 2: Ten different Transport Entrepreneurs Associations including National Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs and Narayani Transport Entrepreneurs’ Association have called Chitwan bandh for indefinite time from Friday protesting the murder of a transport employee.



According to co-coordinator of Narayani Transport Entrepreneurs´ Association Badri Poudel, the bandh will continue till the criminals involved in the murder case are brought to book. [break]



They have brought all the means of transportation to a complete standstill in all districts of Narayani zone, Poudel added.



With this, long and short route vehicles via Chitwan district have been completely halted while market areas are also not in operation.



The transport strike has been enforced after Santosh Shrestha associated to Narayani Transport Entrepreneurs´ Association was attacked and subsequently killed by Chautari Transport Entrepreneurs´ Group two days ago.



Transport entrepreneur Mitra Raj KC said the bandh is to pile pressure on the authority concerned to take action against the guilty and provide with compensation to deceased´s family.
