Altogether 34 cyclists had participated in the tournament organized by Nepal Cycling Association.
The top three finishers bagged Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively.
The organizers had planned to include competitions in both male and female categories. However, only one female participant turned up for the tournament, which forced the organizers to scrap the women´s competition.
Laxmi Thapa Magar, the only female contender, nevertheless took part in the tournament for a joyride.
“We were expecting at least five girls to compete in the event,” said Dilipraj Shrestha, president of Kaski District Cycling Association. "But sadly, only one girl turned up for the tournament,” he added.
Though the women´s competition was scrapped, Magar was awarded Rs 10,000 as a sign of encouragement.
The race began from Pokhara´s Pharsyang, took an upward spiral route to Sundari Danda and returned to the starting point to make a lap of 6.2 kilometers.
