KATHMANDU, July 17: In a bid to compete with Samsung Galaxy S II in the domestic market, CG Impex is preparing to introduce LG Optimus L7 P705 within this week.

“We are introducing LG Optimus L7 in the local market with an aim to provide better options for smartphones users," Ramesh Shrestha, general manager of CG Impex - the authorized distributor of LG for Nepal -- said. “I am hopeful that the L7 will win the heart of Nepali people because it is Rs 17,523 cheaper than Samsung Galaxy S II.”

The Optimus L7 will be available in black and white colors and priced at Rs 37,777. It will be the fourth model in Optimus L series in Nepal. CG Impex is already selling LG L3, LG 3 dual and LG L5 in the country. The company is currently marketing 12 models of LG smartphones in the domestic market.

The Optimus L7 runs on Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.3 operating system. It is powered by 1 GHz Cortex A5 central processing unit and has 4.3-inch LCD capacitive touch screen which has Corning Gorilla glass protection system and multi-touch functionality. Likewise, it has 1700 mAh battery which can deliver up to 6 hours of talk time and standby time of up to 550 hours.

It has maximum power backup compared to other devices in the same segment, according to the company.

The new device has internal storage capacity of 4 GB. Its storage capacity can be expanded up to 32 GB through a microSD card. It sports a 5 MP primary camera with auto focus and LED flash features.

“We are planning to market this phone in urban and semi-urban areas like Kathmandu, Pokhara, Dharan, Biratnagar, Butwal, Narayanghat and Nepalgunj among others,” Shrestha said, adding that the company was planning to sell 600 L7s within the first three months of the launch.
