KATHMANDU, Dec 22: A meeting of the dispute resolution sub committee under Constitutional Committee has ended inconclusively on Thursday morning.

The meeting held in Singha Durbar remained indecisive on whether to include the term ‘People’s War’ in the preamble of the new constitution or just mention it as an explanatory note, UML leader Surendra Pandey said after the meeting. [break]

Earlier, the sub committee had agreed to replace the term with ‘armed conflict’ in the preamble of the new constitution.

Today’s meeting also could not forge agreement on other disputed issues including those related to whether or not to make certain articles of the new constitution subject to amendment.

As per schedule agreed earlier, the sub committee will have to sort out all issues except those related to state restructuring by the end of this month.

In case the Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led sub committee fails to resolve the differences within the set deadline, the issues will be settled through Constituent Assembly voting.

The next sub committee meeting will take place on December 24.
