NSC distributed a total of Rs 374,950 to 61 players who had won gold medals in the South Asian level and silver and bronze medals in Asian level tournaments in the fiscal year 2068/69. [break]
NSC distributed money to different sports associations asking them to conduct tournaments of their respective disciplines.

Of the rewarded players, 43 bagged Rs 7,510 each while the remaining 18 took home Rs 2,890 each. According to Kamal Khanal, coordinator of the player selection committee and NSC chief of sports competition and planning department, the winners of the official games were awared Rs 7,510 while non-official winners were given Rs 2890.
All 61 players awarded are from the martial arts. Siterio karate players dominated the awardees list with 18, including 10 male and eight female players, receiving cash incentives. The awarded players are from 11 games, including seven official and four non-official games.
"This is our move toward institutionalizing the achievements of players and coaches," NSC Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama said during the function, adding, "We have already proposed the cabinet to generously reward international medalists and coaches."
NSC asks both Olympic committees to unite
National Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama said that NSC could rethink its recommendation for dissolution of both Nepal Olympic Committees if both the bodies unite.
NSC Member Secretary Lama made such remarks only a few days after his recommendation to the cabinet to dissolve both the bodies.
"We have still been requesting them to unite and be loyal to the country," Lama said, adding, "The recommendation to dissolve the Olympic committes was made keeping in view the benefits of players, coaches and sports sector at large."
"The current NSC leadership will not remain a mute spectator. There can only be one NOC in the country."
"The new NOC will be elected by the association. This will neither violate the Olympics Charter nor the Supreme Court´s ruling ," Lama said.
Lama also blamed the two NOCs for tarnishing the image of country at the international level. "Now we will root out corruption at NOC."
