SUNSARI, Sept 26: Twelve passengers were rescued after a bus plunged into the Saptakoshi River at the Koshi Barrage on Thursday evening.

According to DSP Nabin Krishna Bhandari of the District Police Office, Sunsari, the bus (Ko 1 Kha 4601), en route to Gaighat in Udayapur from Biratnagar, fell into the river through Gate No 35 of the Koshi Barrage at around 6 PM.


It is reported that twelve passengers have been rescued, while the status of two others remains unknown. A search operation for the missing individuals is underway, with police forces from Sunsari and Saptari deployed to assist in the rescue efforts.
