KATHMANDU, May 13: The Embassy of Nepal in Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with the Nepali community in Malaysia, celebrated the 2569th Buddha Jayanti with various programs and events.
The celebration was attended by representatives from diplomatic missions and business establishments based in Kuala Lumpur, as well as intellectuals and members of the Nepali community. Around 600 people participated in the event, where the chief monk of a Malaysian Buddhist monastery, Datuk K. Sri Dhammaratana, attended as the chief guest. He highlighted the significance of Buddha Purnima and elaborated on the importance and contribution of Buddha's philosophy to global peace and prosperity.
Preparations for observing Buddha Jayanti completed

Nepali Ambassador Dr Netra Prasad Timilsina, speaking at the event, said that Buddha, born in Lumbini, Nepal, has made a vital contribution to world peace and nation-building through non-violence, compassion, love, and wisdom. Representing the land where Buddha was born, he expressed great pride in being able to speak about the message of Buddha at the program held in Kuala Lumpur.
Ambassador Timilsina called upon everyone to visit Lumbini, support its development, and help spread Buddha's message across the globe to contribute to establishing world peace.
