GAUSHALA, September 6: An unidentified group last night set off an improvised explosive device (IED) at Bardibas of Mahottari district.
According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Kuber Kathayat of District Police Office, the explosion took place at 8 pm in front of the Bardibas municipal office.
The improvised bomb was made with explosives filled in a steel tiffin box and placed over a sand dune at the front of the municipal office.
The explosion has not caused any human casualties and physical loss of properties. The Nepal Army (NA) bomb disposal squad from Rifle Battalion reached the site immediately after the explosion and cordoned off the area and searched for more IEDs, but did not find any.
The bomb explosion comes as political parties gear up to register the candidates' names for the local level elections in Bardibas today. RSS
