Bluefin has started selling pork chop, pork lion, pork ribs, minced pork, bacon and pork smoked Frankfurter among others and chicken smoked Frankfurter from its two outlets at Bhaisepati and Jhamsikhel.[break]
“We are soon adding 11 more varieties of pork,” said Sugam Acharya, CEO of Energy Business House International that operates Bluefin Freshmart.
The company has priced chicken item at Rs 220 for a 200 grams pack and pork items at Rs 220 to Rs 404 per packer. The prices are exclusive of VAT.
Meanwhile, Bluefin is opening its third outlet in Baluwatar next week. “We are opening our third outlet at Baluwatar on October 10. We are also adding outlets in Bouddha, Soalteemod, New Baneshwar and Lazimpat in the near future,” Acharya. “We are adding outlets as per the request of our customers.”
Bluefin is keen on expanding its outlets outside the capital through franchising. “We will award our franchise to interested parties. We will design franchising fees according to the size of the market,” added Acharya.
Bluefin has been selling different varieties of sea foods imported directly from Thailand. The company claims that seafood items available at its outlets can be consumed for a year as they are frozen using Individual Quick Frozen (IQF) methods.
Acharya informed that the company is also planning to introduce technology for aquaculture from Thailand as there is possibility of farming red snapper in Nepal itself. Besides, the company also has plans to open fast food outlets in the near future.
