The checkpoint came into operation today as the landslide-damaged road was repaired by the Chinese authority. Chinese side had removed the landslides occurred in two places along the Khambatar-Kerung road section.
Chief District Officer Shiv Ram Gailal also confirmed it. With reopening of the check point bordering China, it has provided big relief to Nepal as India is imposing blockade over Nepal obstructing the smooth delivery of supplies from India. The news comes at a time when government of Nepal has intensified the efforts to import the fuel from China following blockade by India.
Import of Chinese apples through Rasuwagadhi border point down
The historic border point was reopened officially on October 15 after the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung road section was blocked due to the devastating April 25 earthquakes and landslide occurred in this rainy season.
Nepal's Consular General to Lhasa Hari Basyal and Tibet Autonomous Region's Vice Chairman Tong Min Ching had jointly inaugurated the border point on October 15 with an aim to enhance ceaseless trade between the two countries.
Earlier, the Nepali side had urged the Chinese side to open the border point located 30 km north of Dhunche headquarters to facilitate the export of Nepali products.
