BIRGUNJ, Jan 20: The Birgunj Customs Office has collected Rs 116.58 billion in revenue in the first six months of the current fiscal year.
Compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year, the office has collected Rs 12.01 billion more in revenue. Information Officer at the Birgunj Customs Office, Uday Singh Bista, said that revenue collection through this customs point has been encouraging in the current fiscal year.

The office collected Rs 18.44 billion in Shrawan (mid-July to mid-August), Rs 20.73 billion in Bhadra ( mid-August to mid- September), and Rs 19.09 billion in Ashoj (mid-September to mid-October). Similarly, revenue collection stood at Rs 17.33 billion in Kartik (mid-October to mid-November) and Rs 20.80 billion in Mangsir (mid-November to mid-December).
In Poush (mid-December to mid-January), the customs office collected Rs 20.20 billion in revenue. The Department of Customs has set an annual revenue target of Rs 273.39 billion for the Birgunj Customs Office.
