Bill proposes setting term of AIG at Police Hospital for 2 years

The bill aimed at amending and integrating the laws related to Nepal Police proposes setting the term of the AIG (Additional Inspector General) at Nepal Police Hospital to two years.

KATHMANDU, Feb 9: The bill aimed at amending and integrating the laws related to Nepal Police proposes setting the term of the AIG (Additional Inspector General) at Nepal Police Hospital to two years. 


The proposal suggests fixing the term of the hospital's chief for two years. Currently, the law states that the term of the AIG at the hospital is three years.

Section 53 of the bill exempts DIGs, SSPs, and SPs with specialized technical expertise from the term limit. They will retire upon reaching the age limit. 


For technical positions, including police deputy superintendents and higher ranks, the age limit for mandatory retirement is 60 years. Inspectors and those in lower positions must retire at the age of 58.
